We have a great difference in altitude, from 400 to 950 metres, gradually ascending in parallel valleys from south to north. The conditions are unbeatable for organic cultivation. In Bodegas Familia Bastida, we control numerous vineyards of several farmers where we carry out the controls and work that generation after generation allows us to have grapes of different varieties, altitudes, ages and soils. Our varieties are Monastrell, Syrah, Garnacha Tintorera, Garnacha, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, within the red varieties and in the white varieties, Sauvignon Blanc, Verdejo, Macabeo and Airén. The soils are mainly stony limestone, sandy loam and clay. 80% of the vineyards are dry-farmed, with most of the vines being bush vines. Yields are very low due to the low rainfall. We have cold winters and hot summers. Harvesting begins in September and finishes at the end of October.
We are continuously growing, adapting to new quality certifications and consumer demands.
Our philosophy and identity is to maintain tradition, from the care and control of the vineyard in a sustainable way, taking meticulous care of all the work and processes in the winery in a natural way until the final bottling of the wines.
